SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A very wet weather pattern will continue across the Suncoast, bringing repeated rounds of rain, a few thunderstorms and the possibility of minor flooding through the rest of the week. Additionally, added moisture and rain chances may increase due to the involvement of a developing tropical system in the Gulf.Today and tomorrow look especially soggy around Sarasota and Bradenton, with rain chances near 90% and highs only in the lower to mid-80s. Coastal and inland areas could see locally heavy downpours, especially where storms repeatedly move over the same locations.Thursday and Friday bring more of the same, with numerous showers and thunderstorms. The Weather Prediction Center has much of Florida under a low-level risk for excessive rainfall. Localized flooding will be possible, especially on streets and in poor-drainage areas.
